The big news this week: Two X-Men missions; Mutant Radio and Plant Life, MR leads to Pres. McKenna looking a lot more fondly on the X-Men and the school, Amanda has a birthday, and Nathan's two best friends hit town.


X-Project Role-Playing Logs - April 11th, 2004

Shinobi, Amanda - last Sunday morning
Amanda enlists Shinobi's help with the controversial art project. In return he gets to be all big brotherly about the situation with Manuel.

Sunday afternoon. Angelo finds Paige asleep in the sunroom. They like to pretend everything is fine but no. No, it's not. Good thing they love each other, huh?

Bethany, Amanda
Set during the group outing to the city on Sunday. After the movie, Bethany suavely maneuvers herself into some alone-time with Amanda. The gang agrees to meet up at Gino's Pizzaria in half an hour - plenty of time for the girls to be cute. Just some fluff - you know we're overdue.
Amanda did the bulk of the writing. Bill her for your insulin shots.

Nathan and Marie, Sunday night
Backdated to Sunday. Marie visits Nathan in the medlab, and their conversation goes some interesting - and difficult - places.

Sunday afternoon in the medlab, Nathan wakes up to another vision. With Moira's help and what Charles has been teaching him, he manages to handle this one a little better.

X-Project Role-Playing Logs - April 12th, 2004

She's gonna stay out all night long [Roomie Log]
Friday night clubbing. Paige is hiding in the bathroom. Sarah finds her, and finally decides that they should dance. But first, more alcohol. By the end of this log, they provide Jono with enough images to fuel his wet dreams for a month. Let's hope he was paying attention. (Not really as dirty as it sounds.)

[Angelo, Marie] Silly girl, secret missions
Angelo finds Marie playing video games with Artie and Miles. The two of them chat while the boys are their typically adorable selves.

Tabitha, Percy: Almost Over the Hill
Percy comes by to talk to Charles, regarding an offer Barry (the owner of Stonewall Farms) would like to make, and afterward, he tracks down Tabitha. They chat and go out to lunch.
( Sounds a little...flammable. )

Doug and Amanda
Amanda drops by Doug's room for help translating a spell. Unfortunately, she transcribed a bit wrong, so she has to show him the original. Doug very carefully doesn't react to Amanda stripping, sensing that it's important. There's a little bit of discussion of the spell, and wishes to make sure Rack gets his. Just general plot advancement.

Rahne, Marie-Ange, last night.
Before Marie-Ange and Doug talk via IM last night, Rahne tracks her down after the comments here to explain why they haven't been talking, and maybe to get some resolution.

Nathan and Manuel, Monday night: Knight takes Queen. King Objects.
They continue their aborted conversation from last week about Amanda and links. Things don't go quite as well this time.

Nate and Doug
Late afternoon/early evening Monday. Nate comes up to visit Doug and talk about the map that he created, in several different languages, as well as the fact that he can now speak Askani consciously.

Mini-scenelet, Monday afternoon, Jamie and Kitty
While Doug is getting holes poked in him, Kitty finds out about the hacker coup.
( And wishes to poke more holes in him. But settles for extra cake. )

Girly supergeniuses?
( Kitty and Paige have a 'girls night', and are generally very funny. )

[Marie, Logan] If it's not broken, don't fix it.
Marie and Logan discuss Paige/Jono/Angelo and then revisit the subject of the fight they had while up north, only without the yelling.

X-Project Role-Playing Logs - April 13th, 2004

Logs: Sarah, Nathan, Rahne
After his conversation with Manuel, Nathan tries to take out his frustrations on a punching bag. Sarah appears, and the two talk briefly about how one vents. If anything, though, it makes Nathan's state of mind worse.

After that, and leaving a message for Moira, Nathan takes refuge outside in the gazebo, unable to tolerate the mansion any longer.

Hours later, Rahne, out in the rain in her wolf-form, finds him...
( Stepping back from the precipice... )

Doug. Angie. Mall. this afternoon, like -right- after classes.
Doug and Angie. The mall. An earring. And - .. how is it that these things always have serious parts? Confession of secrets - Angie finally tells Doug about sleeping with Manny, and getting Manuel to probe Doug after the potion incident. There's.. well, its a calm resolution, but rest assured, it won't be the last we see of -that- trauma.
( They say that like attracts like, we're one and the same.//To say you're one of my kind is to say,//we don't take the blame. )

Nathan and Moira
Moira falls asleep waiting for Nathan to come back and he wakes her up. They talk about Manuel, what happened and facing certain stumbling blocks. Moira's bound and determined to beat some sense into his head.
( I'll be at your side, there's no need to worry/Together we'll survive through the haste and hurry )

[Doug, Marie] It's so hard to swallow.
Marie finds Doug after classes to ask about some lessons in Askani and ends up learning some things about Doug's thoughts that she'd rather she didn't know and, more, she'd rather Angie didn't know. She doesn't take it well, and ends up going for a run, for lack of any other way to escape.

Sarah, Betsy: Answers
( In the second time they've really talked since the Kwannon incident, Sarah gets the answers she's been looking for. )

Tuesday, after classes: Jamie, Doug, and Angie
These two conversations take place nearly simultaneously, as Jamie aborts a raid on his cookie stash to play relationship counselor.

[Marie, Scott] there were times she was a woman,
Marie finds out that with a mutation like hers, setting out to go as far and fast as you can will get you further than you expect in far less time than you intended and if you aren't paying attention, you'll have no way to get home. She calls Scott to come and find her and he does, and they talk on the way home.
( oh, there were times she was just a child )

[Marie, Manuel] Where are you golden boy,
Manny is worried about Marie and keeps an eye out for when she's coming home. He intercepts her on the way back to her room, determined to repay her a little for her kindnesses in the past by making her feel a little better, the way the deadheads do. And,he succeeds.

X-Project Role-Playing Logs - April 14th, 2004

[Logan, Marie] I know from your pretty little smile
After Scott drops by Logan's room to check on Marie - and doesn't find her there - Logan goes looking for her in her suite and finds her himself to catch up on what went wrong today. All's well that ends well.

Marie-Ange and SarahAngie seeks out Sarah so she can vent on the weight bag without breaking her wrists. So, there is venting, and hitting of bags. No earth-shattering kaboom though, sadly.

[Charles, Scott] Austin is nice this time of year
Charles gets a call from Trish Tilby about a hostage taking in Austin, TX, and passes the information on to Scott.
( Good news always waits 'til noon )

Telephone from the White House
President McKenna telephones Charles for help resolving the Austin hostage crisis, and they make plans to speak in person on Friday.
( You know that joke about how CNN is faster than the American intelligence services? )

After-clubbing.
After what happened at the club, Jono goes to see Sarah about some comfort. They don't try to solve anything, because nothing can be solved by them. Then they sleep.
( Aw, there's handholding. )

Jane and Angie go shopping! They don't even torture Bobby all that much, either.
Backdated to Monday, after classes. Bobby drives Jane and Angie to the mall and then flees their clutches. Angie and Jane chat and buy a book and drinks.

Nathan, Amanda - Tuesday afternoon
Amanda gets tired of waiting for a reply to these emails, and hunts down Nate to find out what went wrong and why the sudden dramatics. He's evasive, she cheats and looks at his aura and scares the hell out of him in the process. Eventually she reminds him of what he told her when she wasn't coping.
( 'Must not kick the merc with the telekinesis and the tendency to drop dead in the middle of visions...' )

Amanda and Nathan, Wednesday afternoon
Amanda stops by Moira's rooms to get her birthday present. She and Nathan wind up talking about a couple of difficult subjects (flashbacks, Rack, and Manuel), between the playful banter.

The body of the mission to Austin to neutralize the MLF forces holding hostages at a radio station, including the daughter of the Secretary of Defense.

Nathan and Moira, Monday evening
Moira comes back to the room to find him in a fairly good mood. They talk for a while, about hunches, regrets, and the not-so-good old days, but finally decide that they have better things to be doing with their evening.

Manuel, Amanda - She's Only Seventeen
The Date. Manuel takes Amanda to New York for a night of punk music, drinking and catch-up nookie. Only things don't go entirely to plan... Smut warning.

Home: Sarah, Angelo
Late Tuesday night. Angelo and Sarah run into each other in the kitchen. They eat week-old pizza, and chat about Angelo's upcoming trip home, and the possible existence of some pictures from Friday night's clubbing trip.

X-Project Role-Playing Logs - April 15th, 2004

Hello, Trouble. (Sarah, Amanda)
Clubbing on Friday. Second half of the night, when Amanda gets off of Manuel-watching duty. They drink and dance, making sure there's all sorts of incriminating pictures of Sarah for the tabloids (And Shinobi's super spy camera). They talk about alcohol, loosening up, groupies, and piercings, in that order.
( Not to mention all the Evil plans that they come up with. )

Nathan and Moira, Thursday night
After getting this email, Nathan races up to the room to meet Moira. They give in to their 'baser urges', banter quite cutely, and Nathan comes to an important realization. (Probably an R, I would think...)

Moira and Nathan
While working on a project Moira is interrupted by Nathan. Who, through bribery, cajoling and promises, gets Moira to be okay with him going out to play in the quarry.

Sam and Nathan, Thursday afternoon
Nathan's out preparing to blow up innocent rocks. Sam's flying. Just a first encounter and some assorted small talk.

[Angelo, Marie] Sometimes it's a blessing and sometimes it's a curse.
Angelo drops in to check on Marie, they talk about his trip home and what he's afraid of when he gets there.

Thursday early afternoon
Lorna is in the library pulling books for her Phil class. Manuel walks in to find Psych books. She's scared. He's amused. Just talking but it's all quite cruel. Apparently, they both need more therapy.

Marie, Moira
After Marie's posts about being not-sick, Moira goes to see how she's doing. It's obvious distraction is in order and the topic of conversation quickly goes to the men in their lives. Gossip, lots of gossip and girly talk.

Marie-Ange and Nathan, Wendsday evening
Wendsday evening, Marie-Ange seeks out Nathan for more lessons in meditation. She gets a glimpse into how to better use her power, Nathan explains some of the problems with his.

Angelo stops by to see Nathan and talk about what was behind the post he made on the subject of feeling unwelcome. Nathan has advice, but is perhaps just a little impatient with the whole thing.

Domino and Bridge (Friday night at JFK)
Domino and Bridge reconnect in the airport after their separate flights arrive. Dom has a bit of a case of nerves. The two of them aren't sure what to expect when they see Nathan in the morning.

Moira, Nathan
When Moira is beyond angry at the pestering from Pym, Nathan tries to calm her down. Moira starts to realize why Pym bothers her so much, Nathan makes things better by planning revenge.

Take me Away (Sarah/Shinobi)
After some time spent in the gym, Sarah goes upstairs to see Shinobi. They decide they're getting the hell out as quickly as possible. Plans are made, and they cuddle. A lot. Then they go to hide in his bed until dinner. I imagine that'll be quite cheery...

The phonecall from Charles. The testing programs will be shut down, but pardons are still being negotiated.

Moira, Nathan, Domino, Bridge - A New York Minute, part 1 (Saturday morning to early afternoon)
Nathan wakes Moira up on Saturday morning shouting at the computer. They talk about having patience, regrets, and letting the kids make their own mistakes. Some of Nathan's Issues rear their ugly heads, but are put aside for now.

Nathan and Moira meet Bridge and Domino at their hotel. There is a remarkable lack of hostility and a lot of hugging.

The terrible foursome have brunch. Catching up and gossiping is done, and the fate of Dom's first boyfriend is revealed.

While the foursome are out shopping, Moira discovers that it's a small world after all as she runs into Pym. Domino comes to her rescue.

Moira makes her escape from the bookstore, only to find Bridge all but sitting on a Very Enraged Nathan.
( Meanwhile, the testosterone is already flying... )
Later, strategy is discussed at dinner. Poor Pym.

Sam, Nathan, Moira, Domino, Bridge - A New York Minute, part 3 (Saturday night)
As everyone meets up at the Blind Tiger, Sam and Nathan cross paths at the bar and talk about why it would be a good idea for Sam to have a little more fun in life.

Back at the hotel, Dom and Moira finally sit down and have The Talk. It goes exceedingly well.
( Growing up sucks...but then, Mr. Rantypants over there *is* worth all the hassle... )
Out on the balcony of the hotel room while Dom and Moira talk, Bridge and Nathan do the manly-bonding thing and get a few important things sorted out.

Back at the mansion, Nathan and Moira have one last gloaty moment about poor Pym.
