Stolen from Milliways, the other game that eats my soul on a regular basis and makes me enjoy it.

Because I know all of us could always use a little affirmation, and several of us could use it right now, I present the love meme. Comments are posted to this entry, each with a player's name (they were in alphabetical order, but I decided halfway through to add in former characters, so now they're not). Please comment to each subthread with anything nice you wish to say about that player.

Note 1: anonymous is not required, but if you want it, partake!

Note 2: wank and/or unfriendliness will be deleted.

Note 3: this meme is open to our readers, not just our players. That's why it's posted here and not in the player comm.

Note 4: Comments intended for Lorna and Terry's player should be emailed to her if you know her address, please.

Note 5: If you can't see your thread, it's been pushed off the first page. Just in case you didn't notice those little numbers there. ;)

Tap, you're insane. I don't know how many thesauruses you go through to write just one sentence for Marius. I love how no matter how dark your writing gets, there's always a fully redeeming conclusion. Rictor Effect, Bleeding, and Five Against One are three of the best pieces of writing and organization I've ever seen. And the fact that you always work to bring in other players and their characters so the spotlight shines on everyone makes everything all the more enjoyable.

I never thought I'd say this (and I'm not sure I am now, mind you), but if there was anyone who can pull off 'mind-breaking trauma for the GOOD of a character', it's Tap. And I truly do appreciate the way she's able to spin her own characters' failings and problems into development and growth for all the people around them. It's a gift... a gift I am very glad is limited to only her.

Oh, tell me you weren't just waiting for the excuse to subject Ororo to a serial mutilator.

Well, when you put it like that...

Exactly.

And so I smirk at you with an icon of your own making.

I love your representation of Haller. When I first learned you were playing a PC with DID I almost wanted to pull out my hair - it's a diagnosis that gets a lot of media play, yet is incorrectly played out. Yet you? Awesome. The transition between personalities, the fact that they don't all communicate with one another, what each personality represents - I love the development you do and 5A1 was a blast for me to read. What can I say? I'm special.

Crazy, crazy, crazy woman. There need to be two of you. Possibly more. This is my way of saying I love every last thing you do in-game, of course. :)

I still don't know how you write Marius without going (more) insane. But I love reading him.

And yes, to repeat - you do pain with a purpose and I love that. Pain without makes my brain die inside.

Also? Davey is SO the voice of the reader. I love that.

You have two of the most unique characters I've run across in any medium, and they impress the hell out of me. You were the driving force behind some of the best plots this game has ever seen. Your writing is sharp and insightful; your knack for dialogue undisputed. (I'm especially awed by the way you characterize Marius with his speech patterns. That has got to be hard to write.) Your characters are complex and fascinating, and your impressive willingness to show their darkest aspects without flinching contributes greatly to that. Your writing is incredible, and the sheer force of your talent blows me away. I greatly look forward to whatever you do with your characters in the future.

You've shamed me into becoming a better writer. Seriously. You make me work harder than any other simply by being that good, just so I don't make the log suck. :)

And for some reason we work really really well together.

I like that you try and foist off all the blame on me for YOUR crack plots, little missy.

But you have that talent for dropping your PCs down the well just so they can climb up again. Although much like Azzy - sunshine tease! They do eventually get their shining moments, though, and that's what makes it worthwhile.

You were talking about how much crack I bring? *grins* (Okay, yeah, I bring lots. ;) ) You've managed to do some of the most difficult plots out there (I mean, really, you and Azzy weren't able to play your characters for how long?), where you drag your guys through glass...and make everyone like it. They come out better for it! It's good damage!

One of the best writers in this game, seriously.

Basically? You rock my world. I really don't have words for how awesome Marius and Haller are. Five Against One and the Possession Night after were so incredibly fantastic.

Even though he is so fascinating I don't have it easy with Marius, maybe because he shows me that I don't know as many big words as I would like to believe. But I just can't get enough of the others.

As much as I hate to say this...

... you've outgrown Idea Guy.

And that is the finest compliment I can pay you.

*grins* Okay, I've always adored Marius. Especially his journal posts and one of these days he and Laurie are going to have an on camera log. (Although I'm sure they've probably met and talked before this in general.)

Haller is a hell of a lot of fun to read and that log between Charles and him is one of my all time favourites.

You do such a good job of writing, mate. Incredibly talented and the fact that you can pull off such large scale plots is always mind boggling since I'd probably go insane.

You are... impressive is the right word, I think. Five Against One was amazing, and I've been having so much fun reading all the stuff I missed with Marius and Haller, who are so different, and yet you make them both so incredibly interesting to read, whether in logs or on the journals. And Haller's comment about Xavier and babymaking in the Possession Night logs cracked me up. ;)

I suspect that you approach plotting in much the same way I do: "How can I make my character's life hell?"

Except that I stop at at the edge of the nervous breakdown, and you just drive on right through. Awesome.

Also, because it can't be said enough: I want to talk like Marius does, when I grow up.

I think I'm a teensy bit jealous of you. *grins* Not only can you write incredible things, but you have these amazing ideas for plots that just knock on from others, and you're able to make even the most insane plans work. Bleeding is one of my top ten plots ever - the fact I hung onto my alt for two months after approval in order to come in on that one is a pretty clear indication of the esteem I hold you in. ;)

My only regret is that when one boy is being tortured, the other languishes in off-camera limbo, since it means less of the favourite characters, as both Haller and Marius are.
