Paige's schtick is that you can pay mana to make her stronger, tougher, or more versatile - but you can't do all three more than once. She's a utility critter, basically.

(Yes, I know the game terminology is Creature. I've said "critter" since 1994.)

You wanna tell me about flyers while you're at it? Because I thought I had sort of sussed what Paige was, and was Totally Wrong so now I'm fussing.

Flying means "This creature can only be blocked by other creatures with Flying, or creatures with Reach."

When you attack, normally the defending player can block your attacking creatures with his or her own untapped creatures. ("Tapped" means that you turn the card sideways to show that it's either attacking or it's used an ability, that's what the little curved arrow symbol is.)

If a Flying creature is attacking, it can only be blocked by another flier or a creature with Reach (in the RL game, Spiders usually have Reach to represent their web. Angelo has it to represent being stretchy.)

I always referred to black/blue as "You fucking bastard" and blue/black as "Fuck you very much." - black's more brutal, blue is a little more polite about it but still quite nasty.

I tended to play blue in Constructed - given an even playing field, I'm a strong Control player.

Given the fact that I haven't played Constructed in six years, I tend towards white/black or black/red in Limited, balancing removal-based Control with tempo-based Aggro.

(Note that almost none of these cards would work in a strict Control, Combo, or Aggro deck)

Most my decks are green/white. Gain a bunch of life, spawn a bunch of token creatures (and gain more life) and just overrun the other player.

My husband hates my desk, I wonder why. :d I tend to get him to pick up the Blue/Black "Yoink/Oh No You Don't" deck.

When Nute and I were roomies, one of our local friends had a all white lifegain deck for multiplayer that I swear to GOD I built a black leech-life deck JUST to shut that damn white deck of hers down. It was -that- annoying.

Back when I did play (which was almost a decade ago), I ran a green/white. Mainly Golem/Treefolk/Walls. Defense, and enough Seedlings to choke a goat :D

BTW, Fred totally reminds me of some of the better Walls I had back in the day :P
