Coming Soon(ish) - X-Project, after 11 years of continual gaming in the same X-Men movieverse, is currently discussing some fundamental changes in order to keep up with the evolving superhero movie genre. These changes will take some time and effort to implement, but in the meantime, new applicants should be aware that things will be happening that will change the gameworld in a dramatic way, as well as open up more options for gameplay, including previously-played characters.

We anticipate everything being in place hopefully before the end of the year, but we'll certainly keep our players, readers and fans updated as we progress. We think this will be the beginning of a rejuvenated and even more exciting X-Project, as we move into the future with all new plots, characters and events.

For further information, contact the mods, and thank you for your patience during this transition.

X-Project is an X-Men movieverse RPG on Livejournal. Set after X2, we've been running since May 2003 and use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. There's a number of settings for a range of play, whatever your preference, and while we accept new characters we strongly encourage people to adopt one of our orphans.

Check out the Wiki and the advertising community to see what's available. Readers are highly encouraged! If you're looking for X-Men based entertainment, X-Project welcomes you to read along and enjoy the ride!

For the readers as well as the players - in terms of reading along with the game, which is preferable? The new comment style, or the old one?

(since I know I have friends who have issues with the new style in terms of eyestrain/migraines, I wanted to do an informal poll of those who read along and see if it's something that should be raised with the modship - personally, I prefer the old style, since the new one does give me headaches)

After some wrangling of servers and IT help desks, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] have restored the Wiki on a new host we can't break. The old link should work just fine, and if you notice any bugs, please let us know so we can fix them.

Also, some servers may take some time to refresh and show the new host, so if you're still getting the database error, clear your caches and reload, and if that doesn't work, wait another 12 hours or so.

Enormous thanks to the Dynamic Duo for getting us back up and running. :)

As people might have noticed, we're having some problems with the Wiki today. This would be because we've gotten too big for our boots, so to speak, and our techie crew is having to attempt some work to either a) spread it out over multiple databases or b) find a new hosting provider that won't cost an arm and a leg in terms of MySQL hosting.

Apologies for any inconvenience this might cause. We'll keep you updated.

And yes, Alanis, _this_ would be irony, considering I was nudging people FAQ-wards only just today. ;P
