Voodoo Child Feedback
Jun. 9th, 2007 08:12 pm(Because this plot was just awesome)
I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner. I would have, if I hadn't been busy over the past few days.
Firstly, wow. This plot really blew me away. I know I've only been around for a few months now, but I'm still being continually amazed by the sheer quality of the writing everyone manages. Especially since so many of you were thereally faintly scary Really Good Writers when I started reading fic six and a half years ago.
I'm staggered by the sheer scope of this and the number of people Dex involved in every step of this. He said twenty players. That must have been like herding cats at points, even with the sub plot runners involved. I am amazed by that.
All the aspects of this plot tied in wonderfully together. It's impressive given the number of group logs and different things that needed to be covered. Keeping this many people on the same page (more or less) takes skill and the plot runners must have had a job with that.
I like the way it's being used to further so many characters' development simply because so few people were forced into the victim role in this. Scott and Ororo's reactions to the kidnappings and even Scott's post (even if it was the cause of OOC controversy). I especially liked the way the mansion and Snow Valley had to work together.
Laurie, Angel, Sooraya, Crystal and Dani were impressive. Their breakout was believable and it was great to see that side of each of them. I'm loving Laurie's reactions to everything now, as well.
And that moment where Angel hugged Cain? Gold.
Angel and Amanda were impressive. I actually teared up slightly in the hospital log following it all, when Amanda was in the frame. I am really enjoying reading all the repercussions to this that Kate and Rossi are throwing up now.
The Trenchcoats, again, were impressive. MA and Doug during the fight scene, Illyana placing the explosives, Pete hotkiving ...the major villain in all of this, whose name I've completely blanked on. I just liked the trenchcoats scenes in general.
I loved reading all of the capture scenes for the Murderworld part of things, and the rooms people came up with. Medusa's was horrible, as was Nathan's and I'm sure half the reason Kyle's was so icky was because I was eating a ham sandwich for lunch at the time. Mondo's was very subtle in its creepyness and I loved Medusa's reaction to it, and to Mondo. The rescues were great, too, especially, again the way the kids saved themselves.
I really enjoyed the pinball scenes and the way the creepy, crazy insanity of Murderowrld was played out during that section.
*grins* And, of course, I liked the killer clowns side of things.
The XMen's mission was impressive. I liked the firefly references and the way nothing went wrong. It was very much a moment that pointed out that they are professionals and very good at what they do.
The escape from Murderowled was great, too.
Finally, I'm loving all the reaction logs going up in response to it all. It's all been a joy to read and I've really enjoyed it. I had no idea what was going on in most of the other sections of this plot - this isn't criticism - and in the end, I'm glad of that, The suprises meant there was real suspense while I was reading it.
Well done, everyone!
