Dude is it just me or is x_cyclops being a real bitch about x_pyromaniac or what?! Yeah yeah, I get it, huge loss and all, but to turn on John is neither rational nor what I expect of Scott (though I suppose it's very much movie canon). Isn't he supposed to be the logical guy, here? I mean, I'd expect Logan to either bury himself alive or run around in a killing rage, but Scott, well. Is he really so brainless that he's somehow blaming John for Jean's death? Or is he just blindly lashing out, while keeping an uptight appearance? Well, either way. I am not a big fan of how Pyro-the-brat was behaving, either, but Scott is taking the blind approach I hate so much. I would have expected more from him. Of course, x_celsis letter to John warmed my t00by heart, as did the responses to Scott's post.

Nice smut there, Logan and Ororo. Am also looking forward to see what's happening with the x_syrin plotline, and of course with everyone else - guys, speak up if the Masters don't forbid it. People loff to read from you. Oh, and *Hi* to x_gambit and x_crowdofone. Big fan.

[EDIT: Just to clarify: I do not at all disagree with how x_cyclops is characterized. I did not mean to personally attack the player of Scott in any way - I was just enraged by what Scott wrote, and thought this was a place where I could vent. I actually think Scott could possibly be as tight-assed as portrayed. Mods, if this place is for squeeing only (and not for going *headdesk* at certain happenings), please feel free to tell me and I'll edit this post in an according manner.]

The thing about Scott is that he is not necessarily well-liked (in my opinion). I see him as being a hard-ass. He's also not *trying* to be liked. He wants to make sure (even more so now) that all of his (the Professor's) charges live, and have a chance at a life.

Yes, he is upset over Jean's death. He's not reacting well. Taking it out on John? Likely. Give him a day or two to get over it, he'll probably apologize.

His main fear is Magneto. And John having access means (logically) to Scott that Magneto has access. Or Mystique, which is worse. If John was on his own, that'd be a different reaction. But Magneto is the guy who tried to kill every human on the planet, and Pyro just went off to hang with him (no, Scott probably hasn't realized that Pyro didn't know that when he went, either).

And I must admit, I am going on movie!canon and not comic!canon (pick one!). I'm also still trying to get under Scott's skin. It's been more difficult than I thought it would.

Ooooh. That's a way that I hadn't looked at Scott- either what I know of comic-canon, or movie-canon. It makes more sense than a lot of characterisations I've seen where he seems to be just over-strict for the sake of it. And it would make the over-reaction with regards to Pyro very believeable, and understated if anything, since he'd see it as a danger.

*blinks* Honestly, I have trouble imagining how anybody rational could not see it as a danger. I was assuming calculated risk on the part of the people who did make that decision.

But really -- didn't we just see all throughout the movie the consequences of what Magneto did and did not know about what was going on at the school? :)
