[identity profile] frito-kal.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] x_project
It's been a year since we did the last one of these, and we believe many of us could use the pick-me-up.

As last year, below this post, there will be a comment for each player in XProject, with notes on who they play, links to their wiki entry, links to the journals for their characters, and some helpful identifying icons. Because we think it looks cool. As last year, there will actually be two posts so that the people at the end of the alphabet don't get left out.

Differently from last year, once we have all this nonsense up, we'll do one big meta-edit to put a link to each person's comment.

As usual, you can find last year and other previous threads like this listed off your Player Page on the wiki, and those will get linked in the comments.

And last, speaking in the third person because as you can see, the second post is actually being done by Twiller.

I love your girls. Whether it's Paige being big sisterly to Yvette or Sofia mocking someone's taste in shoes, you have a wonderful sense of character with both of them and a lovely, delicate prose that conveys so much. Also, logging with you in the pub is one of my fun times, as much as you want to kill Dex for making you do it. ;)

You are probably one of the best 'emotion' writers I know. (And I shall explain what I mean by that!) There's a way you have with words that just makes me feel a scene. You draw me in with the words and make me feel the moment.

You've written what is still one of the most beautiful scenes in XP for me. The part in the woods with Yvette and Paige where she's reading the book. It's still the scene I think of when I think of Paige, or Yvette. That or the time Paige went crazy and ended up in the Morlock tunnels. Beautiful, beautiful prose, mate.

Sofia, so snarky and prickly. I love her. One of these days, we'll have to finish that Jubilee and Sofia log we started. Every scene you show her in, you always bring your A game.

I love Paige and Sofia both for their tendency to swim against the respective streams they both are in. And your writing is always beautiful to read. :) Plus you're just a great friend outside of the game as well.

The mere fact you're still on the books despite not playing a character is testament to your awesome. :) Your ability to plot, to point out the best way to achieve something are hugely valuable RP skills and I have to admit, when I'm doing something these days, it's a case of WWAWD? ;)

Also, I don't think I can thank you enough for the emails you sent after particularly rocky game times - they were all the more helpful for being unlooked-for.

I miss your Pete, and your Sean. I still love that log when Pete takes Jubilee with him to teach Patches a lesson. I will so get artwork of that scene one of these days.

You have a way with words, mate. You make me laugh, and sometimes cry. You have such an excellent grasp of what a scene or a plot needs and what to leave out as unneccessary.

Besides all that, you're just an awesome person as well. Your link posts on your blog always has something of interest, and I love reading your opinions on things. You always make me think.

Brain twin! *flails* Okay, anything I say is probably a reiteration of "OMG I think you're awesome!!!" but it's true. Like Alasdair, you encourage people to try harder, just by being there and I always love reading your Emma - she's just so perfect.

Someone new to the feedback thread idea! Whoo!

When you apped Nico, you did something that hasn't happened for a while - you got me interested in Amanda and her relationships again. The hazard of playing a character for a long time is that you can just run out of things to do, but having Nico turn up and become Amanda's erstwhile apprentice gave me a huge spark of motivation. Nico is adorable - unsure and brash, but also vulnerable and desperately seeking approval - and sometimes she just breaks Amanda's heart, knowing the tough road ahead of her.

Laura is another character entirely - fun and bubbly and as about far from angst as you can get. I love seeing you play her, knowing I helped with her creation. I feel a bit like a proud auntie. ;) But above all, the improvement you've shown even in the short time you've been playing, given the language difference and the time zone issues, has been amazing. Your learning curve has been impressively steep and I can't wait to see what else you come up with. :)

I love what you've done with Jean-Paul so far - you had the option of picking up the character and taking the easy road and no-one would have blamed you, but instead you decided to incorporate the long-term effects of psychic torture into the character and he's become a far more interesting character for it. The situation with John - dare I call it a "relationship" is great to read as well, so much snark and hesitation and pretending they don't actually care about each other...

It's been interesting seeing Jan's development especially over the past year. Both girls have changed, but you show it happening so naturally paced that it's always believeable - no sudden about faces for you! I'd love to see more of Jan's feelings in the wake of her Jailbreak injury, and how it impacts on her work with the team, as well as seeing how some of what the X-Men does impacts on Crystal's famed polite calm. :)

I was so pleased when you came back to the fold, especially since you came back with a bang, not only bringing John well and truly back into the thick of things, but by apping Lorna as well. It's not easy to take on a character with as much history as Lorna, but you manage it beautifully, the voice perfectly Lorna from that very first test log. I can't wait to see what you do with her!

And once Amanda stops hiding from the scary green haired bitch, we'll have to log. ;)

As your roomie, I'm guessing anything I say is automatically discounted, but I just wanted to point out that as well as a pair of awesome characters, you do so much to keep this game going. Between running your own plots, coming up with plot ideas for other people, socking, modding, various projects to keep people enthused and making sure groups like XF don't die from lack of input, I'm surprised you have time to write as awesomely as you do. But then again, we know you don't sleep. ;)

Remy and Ororo are my favouritest XP couple - I love the way she can be dignified and calm and yet utterly adorable at the same time with the nicknames and the zapping him in the butt. Yvette is in awe of her, Amanda is pretty much the same (with a dose of "thank fuck someone's taking care of Remy") and I love you and your writing to bits. Plus, my favourite Yvette icons are the ones you made for me - so lovely and clean and life-like!

Along with Nic, you've just made it to your first year of modding, and to put it mildly, you've both had probably one of the most dramatic tenures ever. But you've weathered through it with calm, humour and the ability to point out things the rest of us have missed. I love your girls to pieces - Amanda would be lost without her Boss Lady and Angel is the person Yvette is most like a normal girl with - and I know no matter what, you'll be there to help, regardless of what's going on for you personally. You are, put simply, a legend and I don't know what I'd do without you.
