Happy 8th Birthday to X-Project!. 8 years of X-Men movieverse madness... we've had our ups and downs, and yet, here we still are, still going strong. Thanks to everyone, past players and present, who have contributed to the ongoing obsession and made us one of the longest-lived Livejournal RPGs out there!

Oh god. I really appreciate XP every time I get sent links to other games. There is some unbelievably horrible shit out there. I was just looking at one that is all about the children of various Marvel heros, because obviously, if two superheroes have a kid, the child will grow up with similar powers and act like a Golden Age 'Kid' version of their parents. Both of them. So, you know, you can be the Sorcerer Supreme and be immortal and have hell powers and- blergh. It's like the worst sins of Mary-Sueism all distilled into one perfect liquor of horribleness.

Also, apparently the defacto image for Mister Sinister for any X-Men RPG is Gary Oldman. I've found seven games using him. A trend setter am I.

There are TONS of games that are pretty much copying some of our structure, or our PB's (Alicia Witt is Tarot a LOT.), or have lifted some of our background/wiki pages wholesale. Or use NPC's that are super obscure until we decide to use them.

It's pretty hilarious.

And taking a different stance than the previous commentors: WOOHOO!

XP has definitely been a rollercoaster ride at times, both IC and OOC, but it's been a great ride so far. The game has been blessed with a lot of great writers both in the past and currently who make reading it a lot of fun as well as making the collaboration of RP to continue to create and build the gameworld a joy. Here's to anniversary 10, yeah?

And I have been addicted since day one. Thanks all for the fabulous years and I can only hope for more.

Just out of curiosity, how many original players are left? And how many original readers are there?

I can't actually remember when I joined. :) I think it was some time in '04. Before the soldier invasion plot anyhow.
