I (and Marie-Ange!) are very much looking forward to interacting with Jessie. The Unofficial Council of Making Sure the Future Doesn't Suck Even if Our Power Does (MA, North, Adri and Jessie) will have to meet over ... um... thai noodles I think to decide something. Possibly that they need a new thai place.

Nico is just astounding. Between rolling with the punches in plots, and her attempts to remain unflappable when she's pretty sure half her co-workers could kill her, and then the trauma of her family life, she's always interesting and a great read.

Oh Artie. Bounce, has a remarkable gift at making that kid both so very easy to want to shake until the stupid falls out while also making him absolutely realistic and sympathetic as a pissed-off young man whose anger is 100% understandable.

Good lord Marie-Ange is looking forward to making him photocopy things and bring her coffee.

Between a total inability to say no to a suggestion that Wade be goofy, and a total willingness to break the poor man, Cai's been just rolling with things for Wade and it's been awesome. Neither of my two had a chance to interact with Wade in Genosha until the end, and Wade stuffing down his fear that Marie-Ange was dead was heartbreaking when the walls he was putting up were cracking and all he could do was try to be smartassed to try to keep them holding steady.

Even though I KNEW there'd be a reunion because I was writing it at the time!

Plus Wade actually makes Marie-Ange act like a person who likes people and that alone is a small miracle.

The balance with which Crystal is played - the want to do good and do more good, with also maintaining her distance as a member of a royal family never -ever- falters, which is a very difficult thing to do.

I love Maddie so much I could actually duplicate myself and still not be able to contain the love. Hurricanado Madelyne is right - she's irrepressible and blunt and a terror and yet you can see how much she wants to do right by people and make things Better.

Callie in Genosha made me tear up - the end bits with her and the fungus-lichen and fixing Wade's lungs had such an air of deep deep sorrow and I'm so worried for her, and curious as to what she's up to and hoping she gets herself set right.

Layla slays me. The non-stop wall of words, and her personality and the way she just sails through people's walls and the distance they try to put between themselves as the world and just goes "Nope, not today!" and plows right on in being Layla at them and they can't help but interact with her. It's amazing.

Oh my goodness how much do I love Korvus to tiny tiny bits. I can't imagine the research Cross has had to do for him, and I love that we still don't know if Korvus' comments on pop culture are genuinely him being confused, him being cheeky or both!

God I love John. There is not a single scene in which John appears that I don't make little happy seal clapping hands. (including when he's calling Marie-Ange names, which is silly since I play her. The sillier thing is that she enjoys their little insult wars in a way she didn't enjoy insult wars with Illyana.)

What CAN'T I say about Dex - I know for sure the game would not be the high quality place it is without you. You kept me playing Marie-Ange when I was about to drop her and now she's a much more interesting and fun character for me to play with. You gave us Genosha which, geez, we're still feeling the after effects from and will be for years to come, and on top of all that, it was an absolute blast to play and it's amazing to go back and re-read.

Also you had the best line in Genosha. "Remy like to introduce you to my wife." was perfectly timed, just at the right moment to let us know the tide was turning and that we could start to see things creep around back around from horror and awfulness to seeing victory.

Fred has been a joy to read in every log he's in, but at the moment the stand-out log is the first part of Genosha where he's in jail, depowered and naked and scared, and his entire plan consists of keeping a good attitude and pacing himself so he can kill every fucker on the island. It was such an intense look into his character at the core, and such a fantastic line.

I know I keep saying this, but Sarah breaks me every time you write her. Either I want to die from laughing, or I'm horrified at how brutal she can be, or astonished at the person she's become, and it's all so well done and so consistent with her past and her present.

Seeing Sarah's relationships with both Layla and her sister grow and change (especially in the wake of Genosha) is fabulous. Watching her continue her journey is a great read.

Sam is the steady rock of the mansion. It doesn't matter who he interacts with his compassion always comes through.
