Actually, I just really like the way they handle magic on the show - it's messy, complicated and screws up your life, as well as requiring you to do all sorts of embarrassing or gross things. And I like the way the Narnia/fantasy world tropes are totally screwed with.

I love how they've twisted a lot of fantasy tropes. So even though it's very inspired by other things, it makes them all its own.
