I Love Me(me)
Aug. 5th, 2022 02:45 pmYes, it's the love meme! Isa and I have been talking about posting it and finally talk has become action! Here's the drill: every player has a comment below for folks to leave love. It doesn't have to be words, gifs are also good. We're going backwards to distribute the love evenly (people get worn out by the end of the alphabet, so lets start with them this time!).
We've also included links to the player's wiki page and their character's logs, so you can take a refresh peek at what they've been doing. We'll also link to the individual threads from the player pages, so you can go back later and bask when you need it.
No negativity - if you can't say something positive, don't say anything at all, as the saying goes. ;)
If for any reason you'd rather not be included ping Isa or I and we'll quietly remove your thread. Or, if giving feedback publicly is a bit much, you can email the person directly (email addies are available on the player pages).
No time limits - do your best and no love is too small!
(Thanks Walks for these!)
Five words or a gif you think of when you think of this player.
Five words or a gif you think of when you think of this player's character.
Five words or a gif your characters think of when you think of this player's character.
Three random things you'd love to see this person's characters do.
You and this player can travel anywhere in the world. Where would you take them?
What's the first log or character moment that pops into your mind when you think about this player?

Re: Eva
Date: 2022-08-07 12:28 am (UTC)The stinging sensation surged again... but it felt different this time. It seemed all encompassing but was also more gentle at the same time, more of a tingling sensation that gently nudged her. Another image flashed in her mind, a vague picture of a body... no... not a body... her body. This was her body. Sooraya realized and some of the fog cleared from her mind. Other more stinging nudges returned, urging her along. Sand actually floated up and started to move and shift around, forming the actual 3D outline of a body. The hands and feet were easy, she already had those pictures in her mind... skin, hair it all fell into place slowly and weird patches of flesh shimmered on her sandform.
Doug quashed the urge to yell 'it's working' because he was sure everyone else could see what was happening as well as him. Instead, he concentrated on quiet mental support to Emma so that she did not have to deal with any extraneous distractions. He sent a surge of support vaguely in Sooraya's direction as well, since there had been some resonance through the nanites.
Grain by grain dropped into place and the picture in her mind became clearer and clearer. And suddenly it was there, a kind of abyss she just had to jump into. Sooraya hesitated, but suddenly a small surge of support pulsed through her and she pulled herself together. There were people waiting for her on the other side... who wanted her back... And she jumped.
Her muscles violently contracted as she fought to pull in those first breaths, back into her fully human form.
Hope - I always enjoy how she interacts with Quentin, such as this training log:
It was like a psychic gnat buzzing around his head. It could have been any number of phenomena, flitting around this lower level of the astral plane that telepaths typically ignored, but trauma left only one possible option for Quentin: the Shadow King back for revenge. Suddenly awake, he raised a telepathic hand to swat the fly, but suffering from a liter of homemade margs, untreated post-traumatic stress, and his usual lack of psychic finesse, his move did not have the intended effect.
Absorbed by the interplay of colors Hope drew even closer, almost unconsciously. She almost didn't see it coming, the shimmering hand moving towards her at high speed and she 'dove' to avoid it... straight 'into' Quentin.
In her mind she pulled the oyster close around the pearl that represented herself, locking her safely away from weird phenomena. Slowly she opened her eyes to take in what happened and she stared at the pool on the school grounds. This though.... this was the normal world... not the astral plane... and when she tried to move her hand, her body would not respond...
The rough pavement brought Quentin back to consciousness. What was he doing on the ground? Brownouts and falling over weren't new experiences for Quentin, but having them following a psychic disturbance was, well, disturbing. He pushed himself up into a sitting position, but couldn't move his legs to stand up. He felt heavy and dense, and lacked the muscle power to move. And not only had that buzzing not gone away, it was even louder, more intense. The Brood X cicadas had nothing on the din in his head.
"Fuck, no more tequila with an actual worm in it . . ." he said hoarsely.
She 'felt' herself moving and the perspective shifted as she 'sat up', but when she again tried to move her hand... nothing happened. Hope tried to move her head... nothing happened. This wasn't making any sense... She had no control over her 'body', but she was moving... Since she had been working/observing with the psi's, she focused and called out: "Hello?"
Quentin's head shot up and he surveyed his surroundings, like a rabbit searching for a nearby predator. There was a voice in his head. Despite his sudden lethargy, he seemed to mostly retain control over his body, so this wasn't a possession like he had feared. The presence was familiar, too. So maybe not a predator? "Who's there?" he asked wearily. "If this is an elaborate knock-knock joke, I'm gonna throw you through a door..."
"It's Hope!" She fought to keep her mental voice even. "I... I seem to have ended up in your head..."
