Hey folks. More info on my sadly delayed artwork. The main thing is that it's almost done. All of the commissions have been penciled, and most of them inked. I got delayed waiting to get paid to buy some new supplies. Below are the pictures of Angelo and Jubilee. I'll be posting Nightcrawler by tomorrow, and likely Moira/Rachel, and Wanda/Strange early next week. I just need to do some last inking bits and some computer cleanup. Nute, your group shot will not be scanned here, but if you get it scanned, please send me a copy of the jpg. I'll likely mail everything at once, so the end of next week for most of you. Again, Nute, yours will be a few days later.

Just like before, my wanky rambling and the pictures behind the cut.

I've known Berni an awful long time. She's been writing Jubilee since I met her. That made it very easy to set up an image for her. She wanted Jubilee fighting in Hell. I wanted to capture some of the sort of irreverent attitude of the character, and found a way to combine them. The idea of her writing 'How I Spent My Summer Vacation In Hell' felt very much like the character for me. Also, bonus points if you can identify why her outfit is important.

Angelo originally was a much different piece. It was a black and white piece, and really was standard. I spent a long time trying to figure out what I wanted to say with the character. So, with this in my head, I sat playing GTA: San Andreas; a gang themed game set in the early 90s in an LA type city. Angelo's early history, and the design of the game caught me, and I decided to use the Rockstar themed style created by Brian Wood as the basis for the picture. However, in the game, it's all about criminal activity and survival. Angelo in the last several years of the game has grown past the young gangbanger. So I wanted to show how he was the same in terms of identity and pride, but had grown into a man; into a new idea of how to fight back. While he looks like a Chicano thug, instead of a gun or a knife, he carries an idea into his battles, represented by the Xavier's jacket under his hand. This piece is totally computer coloured. The original is black and white.
