All good things must eventually come to an end, and for me, this means my participation in the game. Real Life and many other things have all combined to make it so that after over three years of being in the game the time has come for me to retire as a player. This means that ~ with the mod team's permission ~ Alison is being retired as a character as well. Miles will be retired with her for the large part, though he will still remain a sock in the hands of Jamie's player, so he might show up now and then for a cameo.

Catseye will remain active however – she will revert to sock status, left in the loving care of two of the players in the game, until such time as the mods find a new applicant for her.

It's been a fun ride, folks ~ thank you all for comments and thoughts during this time. They were always, always valued and appreciated, and it wouldn't have been the same without you.

My favorite Miles moment is To see the Sunrise (http://community.livejournal.com/x_logs/283538.html) with Scott.
My favorite Catseye log is the one where she elopes with Kylun (http://community.livejournal.com/x_logs/957931.html). That, and the sad 2015 ficlet (http://community.livejournal.com/x_project/37274.html) here on x_project, even if it doesn't officially count.

Thank you for all your time in the game, and for never objecting to people reading along. I never really mentioned Alison in any feedback, which is odd considering she's one of my favorites. She has some of the best characterization of all the characters, and really, really impresses me.

I'm amazed at the way you've taken a character without any depth at all, and made her likable and interesting. And Catseye leaves me speechless for so many reasons, only slightly because I never thought anyone could really capture her speech patterns or personality. I am so impressed and envious of your writing talent.

Thank you for your patience and your help those first few months with game history, plot suggestions, idea-sounding and all of that; you made a rather disoriented newbie feel welcome, and it was very much appreciated. I'm sorry we didn't get to log more, but I'm sure I'll abuse your generosity for many years to come. *G*

And I will miss your Catseye, very much. I still think your work with her family was some of the most effective, and wrenching, writing I've ever read.
