Best plot ever. It ripped my heart out and stomped on it and made me cry. The wait between logs really amped up the suspense of the whole plot. And the logs themselves were very disturbing, especially the way the bites on Manuel and Jennie's hands were described. And the absolutely blood-freezing scene where Marius bought Penance. Gah.

Very glad the kids came out mostly functional and that Marius isn't an irredeemable bastard. I've been missing smug Marius, too :). And I was thrilled to see Manuel again. His heroic moment, the consequences of saving Jennie, was such a painful moment. The fact that all these events began when Manuel tried to help Marius was so horrifyingly fitting. Of course everything would go terribly when Manuel tried to do good. And Gemile. I really do adore poor, fucked-up Manuel.

Jennie was thoroughly awesome. She's an incredibly endearing character, and one of my favorites. She's hard for me to categorize, has wit and strength without descending into spunkiness.

(Randomly, since I have no idea who came up with it, I thought the concept and description of the chaos wave was really damn cool.)

I flat out adore this plot and, like [livejournal.com profile] ashenmote, had fallen out of the habit of reading X-Project before these logs sucked me back in.

But aghh, aghh, my heart has been ripped out.

Also, Penance. Her first appearance as Marius's chew toy actually focused my attention more on Marius and what this would mean for him. But these logs are beautiful and made me sniffle. She's so little and sweet. Major props to everyone involved.

And Paige reading The Velveteen Rabbit-! Paige is so much love.

(Storm's and Marie's new players kick ass. I mention this because I can.)

(Oh no, an opportunity to talk about my plot . . .)

First of all, thank you. This was extremely difficult to write; though my heart is indeed black and dead enough for me to have pitched this during the application progress there were points that made even me cringe. I was utterly wasted by the end of it. It turns out grinding a relatively blameless human being's soul into the dirt is a bit wearing. (And yet strangely this was not enough to make me stop.)

The introduction of Yvette as a PC was actually a surprise for us, and, IMO, it turned out to be a great one. Way back when the plot was first conceived we just thought she'd be an NPC who ended up on Muir in case someone wanted to app her. Deep appreciation to Rossi for actually helping quite a bit behind the scenes despite having a catatonic PC (she did a lot of socking for us in the scenes involving Yvette, including the log where she was purchased), and apologies for making her wait about three months between the app'ing and the playing. *wince*

And yes, we were rather horrible to Manuel in this, weren't we? His involvement was actually grandfathered in -- the plot was approved before the char was retired, and we got special dispensation to continue with the use. In retrospect, I'm extremely glad. It gave the char a bit of closure, given the questionable note on which he left the school, well. I enjoyed it, anyway. *G*

The lucksnap was all Azzy's doing. We were looking for ways to showcase all three kids' powers out of control by the climax, and I thought the chaos wave met those needs very well in addition to just being damn cool. I'd like to claim credit for it, but alas.

Very glad the kids came out mostly functional

Errr . . . we're working on it. Give us about 3 weeks. *G*

(And, as expected, my reply is longer than the feedback. We see now why I write Marius.)
