Thirteen Days
Oct. 31st, 2007 02:03 amOkay, my Thirteen Days reading so far, sorry if it's all a bit scrambled.
It was weird how everyone kept saying that going into space was so crazy, after all those experiences with demons and Limbo and dinosaurs and magic and Asgard and alternate reality they've seen before.
I liked the contrast and the switching forth and back between the Xavier's refugees and the X-Men and their respective problems. The whole action in the station was somewhat confusing for me, I had a hell of a time figuring out who was where and what was going on.
Maybe that was me not paying good enough attention in parts. But I couldn't help thinking of that later when I read the log about the Brokeback Transformers movie session - that one took so much pain with mapping everyone's position at any given time! :D But seriously, a rough sketch or map would have been awesome up there.
When the station dissolved, what I liked best was Cain's fall to earth. It was so enthralling I could see it happening. Next to that, I loved Scott blasting Nimrod from the capsule, because it was so unexpected and badass for him. I was all like, "Scott shot first!"
And I felt bad for Marie when she had to see Eric get away again, that was so. not. fair.
...oh. Yes. I guess I felt kind of bad for Garrison there too.
And what I loved was the slow realization that what I had considered the showdown was actually just the setup for all the ensuing complications with the salvaging of the scattered teams. Seriously, I was sitting here, feeling a bit let down by it all and then came the change back into a "oooh, this is going to be awesome" mood - that was fun! :D
And the ground logs kept the promise. In particular, Tabitha's and Forge's Ghostbuster's episode and generally through all logs, Clarice's attitude and inner monologue, and of course the best thing of all: Kyle owning Toad both at combat and psycho-games. Go Team Kyle!
ETA: And go, Team Jenny! I'm so proud: I guessed she might feed Veres to the Blackbird when he was taunting her about her lack of useful variables.

Date: 2007-10-31 02:36 pm (UTC)Yeah, I wouldn't buy Kyle winning that fight without a scratch either. And I know I was thinking he was lucky that Toad just fell from a space station and is in a general state of BAD. Especially with regard to their battle of wits.
