Hello, all. *waves*

I'm a newcomer to X-Men in general. I've seen both movies, and absolutely adored them, but I've never read any of the comics and really know nothing that isn't movie-verse.

So, I'm a little confused, needless to say. I have no trouble following x_coldhands or x_rogue, for example, but I don't really have any idea what's happening with x_dazzler or x_psylocke. I read the character bios, which helped a little, but I'm still unclear on many things.

Maybe on the character bios everyone could specifically write what their character's powers are? Or if anyone knows of a site somewhere that could brief us confused people of X-Men history in general, that would be great too.

Well, Dazzler's mutant power is that she absorbs sound and transmutes it into light, essentially. That can go from anything to lighting up a room to lasers and the such.

She's just moved into the mansion not long ago - her singing/acting career got ruined by her coming out as a mutant, and she's essentially had to get out of the public eye (and then some).

So she's very publicly out as a mutant, and known, since she was in the public eye to start with. She's not exactly comic!canon in how I've got her background set up in terms of chronology, but so far, every element there (or almost) is comic!verse accurate or related (she was with the X-Men for a long time in comic verse, but I'm essentially RPing her right before she "officially" became an X-man). :)

That help any? If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, though I may not spill on plot points that'll come in RPing and the such. :)

Well, Betsy (x_psylocke) is telepathic and telekinetic, if that helps.

Hey Marysia---

Well, she will be. As I was looking through old issues of highlighting Betsy's gifts---I saw that she gained telekinetic powers after a particular battle. I wanted to introduce this fact later on and decided to add it to the Character bio to account for that.

Betsy is also a new recruit to the mansion (about a few months before X1 took place). Blinded in a fight, Betsy decides to relocate and recouperate away from her family in England.

Like Dazzler, Psylocke's is based on comic!canon, but not solely. As we are just starting with the RPG, I believe all of us are fleshing out our characters and finding our fit in the group dynamic.

Also, other characters have the luck of being introduced through the movies.

Ah, to be on film...would save so much trouble.
