Hi. Here's the due cheering and applause for the Thermopylae logs. Thanks you all for a very entertaining weekend!

A few things and snippets I liked particularly or noticed for some reason or the other:

* First thing, it was all around a very good job at building up anticipation over the week.

* I'm not sure why, but for me was the goodbye scene of Alison and Doug the most moving of all.

* Madelyn's "I work at a school for mutant teenagers. And believe me, it's not that different." line cracked me up.

* The repeating of the com messages from Scott and Nathan all over the logs helped a lot with understanding the timeframe of all the scenes. Very good idea.

* When Hank had to leave Valeri behind - that was sad. [Btw I remember that transformed!beast had a strong healing factor in my old Avengers comics - did Marvel drop that idea, or is it X-journal-verse specific that he has none?]

* I liked the description of how Nathan experienced the trigger.

* Sam's air battle was good and his thoughts when he went down made me laugh.

* Damn. I liked Konstantakis! I would have preferred to see her among the survivors, really.
* I was wondering - why wasn't Radonic roottriggered immediately, like the other second-gens?

* I didn't know the fire and ice poem at the start of part 8 and I like it. X_journal is so educational. :D

* I loved Cains 'taking on Director Ruiz' scene because by then I was rightfully pissed about the stunt she had pulled.

* It was cool when Xavier helped powering the Trojan horse, because I had completely forgotten about him at that point.

* Mick's death was sad! Likewise, the scene where Madelyn finds him. Stating the obvious here, I guess, but still.


[Plus, in the aftermath, Alison's scenes with Ani, Remy and Haroun and the Nathan & Moira one were very good.]

From another reader, I just want to say that I loved this all so much and to be honest I can't remember all of my favourite parts and I know that as soon as I click the 'post' button, I'm gonna think of something else.

I loved the logs for the night before they all went into battle, it just seemed so right and I just fell in love with the characters all over again.

I loved the timing that was used, the fact that you could place what action was happening at what time, just because of what was going on over the comms. That was just so well done.

I loved the use of poetry at the beginning and end of the logs, and I esspecially loved the line from Firefly.

I agree that Mick's death was so sad and the whole part where Alison listens to him stop breathing was just so powerful and well done.

I actually think that I need to re-read all the logs before I comment any further because the whole thing just blew me away.

Really, I just want to say well done to everyone involved because I doubt I could have pulled something like that off. So, well done!

It was a blast to participate in. Insane too, but that's another story.

And Alison is all about sound. It made some things happen just so very naturally, as a result of that... :) I'm looking forward to what comes of this, now. Heh!

I can imagine how insane something like that can be, but it was fantastic to read.

It was just so heartbreaking to read, and I was just trying not to cry all the way through it. Very well done.

Again, thanks so much... it is really so exciting to know that people who aren't players are reading and enjoying the game.

And I am just over the moon that the repeated com-conversations seem to have worked so well. That's what I was most worried about putting this together, I have to admit.

Romping happily through some of my favorite poems looking for good pieces to use was a blast... I only wish I could take credit for thinking of the Firefly line, though. ;)

I've been reading it on and off since the beginning, and I've just fallen completely in love with all the characters. Also, you guys always manage to surprise me, which is just another thing I love about it all. And, wow, see me gush madly about you all.

I loved it, it worked perfectly, and in all those logs it's nice to have a point of reference so that you know what's going on when. I probably would have got a little lost without them.

I thought the poetry was very effective, I really did love it.
