We haven't had an "Ask the Characters!" since the end of June. And so, because I want to (and because I think that Bleeding probably led to questions), a meme!

Open to player and audience participation. The rules are easy.

Post a question for any character in the game, and get it answered in and/or out of character!

No question is sacred and probably the character won't lie to you.

Sofia: So, Remy's agreed to the couch sessions. Got the whip and the chair handy?

Mark: From what you see on the journals, does the fact half the SV staff are Xavier's alumni explain the insanity at all? *grins* And how're you finding things in your new job?

All the students: Beyond the usual hot dog eating contests and movie/shopping trips, anyone got anything they specifically want to do in Nwe York? Things that aren't field trips, since I don't want another disaster happening.

Everyone: Name three things you do to relieve stress and keep your sanity... go!

Clarice:
1. go back to college
2. fence/dance
3. shop/sew (although very little sewing in the dorms)

Dani:
1. ignore the journals in my room
2. go outside and ignore everyone
3. tai chi/meditation

I believe that we should go on a field trip. Whatever happens cannot be worse than what has happened even without field trips. At least with the field trip option, we will be prepared.

Everyone: Name three things you do to relieve stress and keep your sanity... go!

1. I dance, usually off of the ground.
2. I destroy things. I prefer to do this outside, and generally to dead tree branches, but I will pay for any damages accidentally incurred.
3. I keep my feelings hidden, forcing myself to act as if everything is perfectly fine, then get ticked off by an idiotic comment on the journals and set fire to a workshop without even knowing it.

Not that they've been working exceptionally well lately, but:
1) Tinkering with machines, either in the lab or the workshop. If I can keep my brain occupied on something creative, then I'm not wasting time thinking about what's stressing me out (although that doesn't mean it goes away).

2) Doing an extra hour in the gym, on top of my regular physical therapy. Stress tends to build up hormones in the body and interferes with metabolism, and physical exercise helps regulate that. Plus, see the above note on distraction.

3) Find one of those smooth roads out in the north end of the county, drive out there, crank up the stereo, and put the hammer down. Freedom is an engine at full throttle.

Marius: What, right now? But my soul-twisting Remorse and I are so enjoying the quiet of Medlab. Even now we're soliciting Bottomless Self-Loathing so we've enough to start a hand of poker.

1. I have sanity? Can I be excused from this question due to a lack of sanity? I make light of my sanity or lack of it.
2. Redesign my apartment, Amanda's apartment, Doug's apartment. Knock holes in my walls. Tear up old flooring.
3. Shop. Or window shop, depending on my disposable income.

*sigh* I'm showing up on time, I'm sitting on the damn couch. What more do you people want?

Video, I assume. Maybe black and white portraits.

(Paige would comment on the sanity question but a) she's insane and b) she doesn't reply to you. Er. Or just the second one. Really! Um.)

1. Pray
2. Cook
3. Hunt

Unlike Kyle, I freely admit to chasing rabbits. They're very tasty.

>>>Name three things you do to relieve stress and keep your sanity... go!<<<

I collect stamps.

No, of course I fucking don't.

I read - mostly non-fiction, but some of the classics, too. I've been reading a lot of Dickens, recently.

I go for walks at night - I've found myself on the viewing deck of the Empire State quite a lot, lately. This place ain't ever going to be home, but I've got to admit, the view up there is a bit fucking special.

And I smoke like a fucking chimney.

It's a good job. Doesn't require much brain power and leaves me with plenty of time and energy to work at Silver, too. And honestly, the insanity makes you all so adorable. You'd all be incredibly boring if you were normal.

As for my own sanity:
1. DJing (or if not then playing around with samples on my computer)
2. Shopping. There are not enough wardrobes and closets in the world to hold all the clothes I want.
3. Probably not appropriate to mention in front of children. It's that damn Post It note again ;)

1. Well, assuming that any of us are in fact sane...the name of the game is sublimation. I redirect my feelings to something productive - teaching, but mostly the team. I get a lot of my anger and frustration out in training.

2. I also suppress like a mad fool.

3. Our pizza nights help me unwind and are good for stress. Pizza, a chick flick and a night of gossip do wonders for a girl.

Jennie: Yeah, I'm sort of feild-tripped out at the moment, try again when there's a distinct lack of of crippling personal trauma.

Julio: See a baseball game? Or any sports game, really, since you do not do soccer up here at ALL. I refuse, however, to watch football. On principle.

-----

Destress:

Jennie:

AHAHAHAHAHA. HA. Hoo. Oh, you're serious. Okay, let's see. What did I used to do?

1. do crossword

2. clean (yes, really, shaddup)

3. Club.

Julio:

1. Play soccer. Or kick the ball around, since there are 3 people who can play, everyone else is ass at it.

2. Videogames. It is theraputic to blow things up, without actually blowing them up. No consequences, just mindless explosions.

3. Read. I can now get through at least half of a novel in English before I get a headache and need to lie down.

1. Torment the horses with my saxophone playing.
2. Work on the 'Bird. Or my bike.
3. Read. Escapism is of the good.

1. Climb things. Trees, walls, roofs, whatever. If it's climbable, I climb it.
2. Tape pictures of people who piss me off to the heavy bag and wail on it until I feel better.
3. Chase rabbits. Which I totally admit to, I just don't advertise it to Forge when I catch them.

Sam:

Uh...go out flyin', go out flyin', and go out flyin'? ;-)

1. Go out flyin'.
2. Read historical fiction (like Harry Turtledove).
3. The entire run of Dallas on DVD (but that's a sooper sekrit).

Doug:

1. Remotely mess with Forge (but not over security matters, because that's serious business).
2. Play World of Warcraft.
3. Teach frat boys not to draw to inside straights in online poker.
