"Ask the Characters!"

We haven't had an "Ask the Characters!" since the end of June. And so, because I want to (and because I think that Bleeding probably led to questions), a meme!

Open to player and audience participation. The rules are easy.

Post a question for any character in the game, and get it answered in and/or out of character!

No question is sacred and probably the character won't lie to you.

Scott: Now that you have have a schedule that allows for some sort of personal life, how much of your day is spent aimlessly wandering the halls looking for something to do? Just on average.

Marie: So, in the past 3-4 months you've discovered your parents are not your birth parents, been hearing voices in times of stress, been physically and psychically assaulted by one former student, sat with another critically injured one in a hospital for a weekend, and set on fire multiple times, mostly by teammates.

Considering the alternative, how could I not deal with a hangover every day? Simply, it's by far an easier and more economicial route than going down roads chock full of memories I'd rather not have and then dealing with ensuing property damage.

Surprisingly little. I did that somewhat at first, but then I noticed that people tend to watch me obsessively when I do that. Apparently me wandering around wearing a blank look is worrying.

We're always going to run into problems. I'll screw up, he'll screw up. It's impossible to we can change who we are. With all that we've been through and how miserable not being with him makes me, why wouldn't we get married? We've no worse odds married than we do just dating.

The relationship with Marie I expected. That was, after all, half the reason we broke up. Anything else is his business - he shouldn't have to be single forever simply because he and I are no longer a couple. I hope he would not expect that of me if I were to date someone else.

That said, I have to wonder how it is that he has managed several dates, and I've had no luck at all.

And I would caution you that calling Doug a geek is exactly like the pot calling the kettle black.

It's not as if we sat down and came to a thought-out decision to do it. It was a whim. But then once it was all said and done...hell, maybe it was the universe telling us that's what we should do next. I love her, she loves me, and the fact that we have survived all of the 'snags' as you put it, and we're still in love and still together proves that there's something there. Something worth holding onto.

And if you imply that my wife is crazy again, you'll be taking a cold shower one day soon. ;)

I believe that we should go on a field trip. Whatever happens cannot be worse than what has happened even without field trips. At least with the field trip option, we will be prepared.

1. I dance, usually off of the ground.
2. I destroy things. I prefer to do this outside, and generally to dead tree branches, but I will pay for any damages accidentally incurred.
3. I keep my feelings hidden, forcing myself to act as if everything is perfectly fine, then get ticked off by an idiotic comment on the journals and set fire to a workshop without even knowing it.

Not that they've been working exceptionally well lately, but:
1) Tinkering with machines, either in the lab or the workshop. If I can keep my brain occupied on something creative, then I'm not wasting time thinking about what's stressing me out (although that doesn't mean it goes away).

2) Doing an extra hour in the gym, on top of my regular physical therapy. Stress tends to build up hormones in the body and interferes with metabolism, and physical exercise helps regulate that. Plus, see the above note on distraction.

3) Find one of those smooth roads out in the north end of the county, drive out there, crank up the stereo, and put the hammer down. Freedom is an engine at full throttle.

No, of course I fucking don't.

I read - mostly non-fiction, but some of the classics, too. I've been reading a lot of Dickens, recently.

I go for walks at night - I've found myself on the viewing deck of the Empire State quite a lot, lately. This place ain't ever going to be home, but I've got to admit, the view up there is a bit fucking special.

And I smoke like a fucking chimney.

It's a good job. Doesn't require much brain power and leaves me with plenty of time and energy to work at Silver, too. And honestly, the insanity makes you all so adorable. You'd all be incredibly boring if you were normal.

As for my own sanity:
1. DJing (or if not then playing around with samples on my computer)
2. Shopping. There are not enough wardrobes and closets in the world to hold all the clothes I want.
3. Probably not appropriate to mention in front of children. It's that damn Post It note again ;)

1. Well, assuming that any of us are in fact sane...the name of the game is sublimation. I redirect my feelings to something productive - teaching, but mostly the team. I get a lot of my anger and frustration out in training.

2. I also suppress like a mad fool.

3. Our pizza nights help me unwind and are good for stress. Pizza, a chick flick and a night of gossip do wonders for a girl.
