Ask the Characters!
Jul. 15th, 2007 11:46 pmAzzy here, player of Julio and Jennie. Remember Ask the Characters? Well, I'm bringing it back. As hard as I can. Since we have some new players who haven't been around for the previous rounds.
The rules are simple and it's open to both the players and the readers at home.
Post a question for any character in the game, and get it answered in and/or out of character!
No question is sacred and probably the character won't lie to you.
For example!
Forge, if you could date any woman in the world, who would it be and why?
or
Lorna, why are you so mad Alex's dog knocked up yours?

Date: 2007-07-16 08:28 pm (UTC)As for comic plots, not really. There's ones that I haven't done yet, but nothing that I haven't been able to twist into a configuration that I enjoyed and wasn't able to make plausible. I suppose the closest would be E PLURIBUS UNUM, which was a mirror of the Creed presidental run, which unfortunately was killed by delays at the mod level, and then Greydon Creed ended up being used before I could ever re-approach it.
'The King Of New orleans' - Better Than Ezra

Date: 2007-07-16 08:30 pm (UTC)Forge occasionally is jealous of other people's powers or their circumstances, but rarely their lives. He's much more the covetous type than the envious type.
I like to think there's no comics plot I couldn't adapt into a movieverse-style plot for XP.

Date: 2007-07-16 09:22 pm (UTC)Amanda - up until this February, she would have possibly have said Paige, as long as it was pre-breakup with Angelo. ;) Now, she's actually a lot more accepting of her life.
Yvette - Angel, because she has the two loving parents, the power that doesn't hurt anyone and in fact can help and she can fly, and because Angel is the sort of outgoing, bubbly girl Yvette always wanted to be more like.
2) Is there a comic plot you've wanted to adapt but couldn't, for whatever reason?
Haven't hit one yet, although I'd love to do an Age of Apocalypse type thing and I have no idea how to make that actual game canon witout using things that have already been done. Mind you, I may just want the dark and apocalyptic thing. ;)
3) What's your character's theme song?
Amanda - World I Know, by Collective Soul
Yvette - doesn't have one yet; suggestions welcome. ;)

Date: 2007-07-18 06:04 am (UTC)Amanda and Paige have many issues they need to work on. (There should be logs! *cough*)
2)
I figured I'd see Age of Apocalypse mentioned by somebody. Seeing that in-game would make my geekish heart go pitter-patter. I like seeing comics canon twisted around for the game. (I get why that plot hasn't been done, though.)
3) Yvette - doesn't have one yet; suggestions welcome. ;)
...At one point I was listening to my iPod while reading logs and this one song actually made me think, "Oh, hey, it's totally about Yvette." It's what made me ask about theme songs in the first place.
Of course, now I can't remember the damn song and it's slowly driving me insane.

Date: 2007-07-18 02:42 pm (UTC)has fallen under my controljoined the collective here. *grins* But yes, so many issues. Poor Angelo, stuck in the middle. ;)2) Twice, no less. *grins* I'm with Alasdair in wanting to do it in a way that isn't "and then they all woke up and found it was nothing but a dream/weird telepathic projection thing, the end." Which would be difficult in terms of not causing major changes to the game-world as a whole that everyone could live with. There may have to be a giant AU project at some point when we add another day to the week. *grins*
3) If you ever find it again, let me know? She just doesn't lend herself to much of my music, and that's saying something considering I've got everything from classical/instrumental to punk rock on my iTunes...

Date: 2007-07-16 11:59 pm (UTC)Sofia: Angie, I think. She manages that sort of glassy exterior without the Major Trauma it usually requires. Right now, Sofia's theme is 'The Tower' by Vienna Teng, although, she thinks it's a little soppy.

Date: 2007-07-17 01:10 am (UTC)Hah! Those two indeed... Any particular reason why? Amanda wanted to be Paige because as well as the happy relationship with Angelo, there was the part where Paige had control of her powers, knew where she was going, had so much going for her...

Date: 2007-07-17 01:20 am (UTC)And don't even get her started on the unfairness that Paige herself didn't manage to luck out in getting a limitless mutation; there's only so far she's going to be able to go with the metamorph thing, but MAGIC?

Date: 2007-07-17 01:24 am (UTC)Marius: Probably Monet, actually. Legitimate child + perfect mutation = pretty much all Marius' issues solved in one. Also her mother doesn't seem to be pure evil, which is a welcome bonus. The only downside is that her hair is by far inferior, though it could easily take his in a fight.
Haller: Trying to think of someone sane and well-balanced and . . . not really finding anyone. Maybe Rachel -- has two parents who love her, is growing into her mutation without the damage he endured, and so far has no major tragedies in he rlife. Stuff that he never had a chance to experience.
Muns: Is there a comic plot you've wanted to adapt but couldn't, for whatever reason?
Hmm . . . not really. I've never met something I couldn't sufficiently warp. :)
What's your character's theme song?
Haller's is Shinedown's "I Dare You" (http://www.lyrics007.com/print.php?id=TmpFNE1UUTA). Marius, I'm not sure about.

Date: 2007-07-17 03:06 am (UTC)Jennie: Uh. Hm. Out of everyone? Probably Angel. She's so blessedly normal. But I'd so corrupt that.
Julio: Okay, who has not been kidnapped, gone evil, blown up a city or have hideous parental issues, please raise their hand. Whoever that blessed soul is, them.
Hmmmm. Honestly, I haven't met a plot I couldn't adapt yet. I mean, c'mon, the mods let me destroy a city.
Jennie: Ageless Beauty by Stars; Julio: Good Morning Aztlan by Los Lobos

Date: 2007-07-17 10:38 am (UTC)Plots I cannot adapt:
Age of Apocalypse. I could write an adaptation standing on my head, but it'd have to be too big and too game breaking for it to satisfy me as an adaptation. (As in, *every* character in the game would have to play along, or opt out of the game for the period of the plot, and I recognise that not everyone would want to.)
Ditto any comics plot that results in the mansion being destroyed/major status quo changes for most of that game. (Again, I could adapt the plots, but I would *want* to destroy the status quo as the point of the plot, and since I can't, I might as well do something else.)
This is the biggest weakness of X-project as a game, in my view - even if the the player base isn't conservative by nature the game *is*. There's a massive inbuilt resistance to doing anything that affects the status quo.
Theme Song: The Guns of Brixton - The Clash.
